Meet Our People
Nafees Chaudhry is the founder of CNC. After completing his Bachelor’s of Commerce degree, majoring in Finance in 1997, Nafees joined Vancity Savings Credit Union, where he worked at the head office for a few years, before moving to Ethical Mutual Funds, joining the mutual fund valuation accounting team. At Ethical Mutual Funds, Nafees designed their North American RRSP Clone Equity Fund’s daily valuation financial model. Prior to this, he received his first accounting designation, Certified General Accountant and a few years later his second designation, Certified Management Accountant. Nafees also completed the Canadian Investment Security Course , received an Associate Certificate in Personal Financial Planning (BCIT with Hons) and the CGA Tax in-depth certification. As well in 2003 he received Coast Capital’s Savings’ Small Savings Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
He specializes in working with small to medium-sized businesses to meet all of their accounting, taxation and succession planning needs. He loves working beside and aiding small businesses, aiming to minimize their taxes and maximize the wealth of his clients. Nafees works on a one-to-one basis with small business owners, explaining to them various tax saving and business growth strategies. These sessions are invaluable for small business owners and set them up for success in their future endeavours. With his diverse background and more than 20 years of experience, Nafees works with numerous, unique industries, including retail, wholesale, real-estate construction, contractors, holding corporations, not-for-profit societies (NPO), as well as professional corporations.
Nafees writes articles for smallbusinessbc.ca, which is sponsored by the BC government for all entrepreneurs. He also speaks at seminars arranged by the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) for small business clients and RBC internal advisory team.
Outside of the office, Nafees enjoys to play sports, including hockey, basketball, and cricket. He frequently travels with his wife and four kids.
Yudi Fang, CPA (Manager) joined CNC as a staff accountant and in 2021 promoted as a manager. She completed her bachelor’s degree in general business in 2012 and subsequently worked for four years with the Bank of China as a financial analyst. Yudi also has a degree in accounting and completed H&R Block tax program, both of which reinforced her knowledge in assurance, taxation, and finance. Yudi successfully completed CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) program.
Yudi is organized, detail orientated, and focuses on assisting clients on a wide range of corporate, and personal tax matters, lawyer trust accounting, GST/PST matters, and dealing with various tax authorities. Yudi has experience in lawyer’s trust audits and preparing Report C for BC Law Society. In her spare time Yudi loves to play with her dog, go swimming, and spend time doing outdoor activities.
George Chen (Senior Accountant) joined CNC as a senior accountant. He completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in business management in 2016 and subsequently completed the UBC DAP program in 2019. He is currently pursuing his CPA designation.
A tenacious self-starter, before joining CNC, George worked for three years in public practice, developing diverse experiences in corporate engagements and personal tax matters. In his spare time, George enjoys playing games, watching videos, and reading.
Heewon Lee (Senior Accountat) Heewon completed her bachelor’s degree in Economics in 2005 and worked for five years as a senior accountant in a French company. Currently, she is working toward her CPA program. Before joining CNC, she worked for six years in public practice with experiences in corporate engagements and personal tax matters. Heewon loves spending time with her family and dog.
Amarjot Sandhu (Staff Accountant) is a valuable addition to the CNC team as a staff accountant. She completed Master of Commerce in Finance and Bachelor or Commerce in Accounting. Amorjot helps small businesses in implementing new technological bookkeeping changes that improved accounting systems and reporting processes. Her passion for organizing financial systems and solving complex problems made a positive impact on the company’s financial health. With a strong background in bookkeeping, accounting, and tax filing, Amarjot has gained valuable experience in helping small businesses achieve their financial goals.
As a certified Xero Advisor and experienced user of QuickBooks, Amarjot has a deep understanding of various accounting software. She has a proven track record of managing multiple tasks and adapting quickly to new responsibilities. Currently, she is working towards her CPA program, demonstrating her commitment to advancing her knowledge and skills in the accounting and finance field.
Ally Han (Admin Officer/Bookkeeper) joined CNC as an Office Administrator/Bookkeeper. With a diverse educational background that spans from a BA in Political Science and International Relations to specialized accounting and bookkeeping programs, she brings a unique blend of skills to her current role as an Office Administrator and Bookkeeper. Her responsibilities are multifaceted and include everything from handling administrative duties to doing bookkeeping. She’s not just a numbers person; she’s a key administrative asset who ensures that both the financial and operational aspects of the business run smoothly. Currently, she is further enhancing her expertise by pursuing post-graduate studies in accounting at York University and a professional bookkeeping program at Langara College.
